Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 at A. at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Chapel in Llano, TX for Ethel Bowen, 76, who died peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
Burial service will take place at Bluffton Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
HE gave us SO much in the gift that is Blake - the twinkle in his blue eyes, his mischievousness, his wit, his love of Funky Chunky ice cream and multiple changes of clothes/costumes when he was a kid, his gentle heart and his desire to serve.
HE also has taken away Blake’s burden and lifted him to that sweet peace that we all prayed Blake would find.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Nothing made her happier than being outdoors, fishing and spending time with her family.
The family moved to Mason, Texas as the drought was breaking in the 1950’s. She loved to sew and made many of the kids’ clothes on a Singer sewing machine she got as a teenager.
She grew up in Mason, but moved to Llano when she married Edward on August 10, 1963. The machine still works, and she was sewing on it just last week! Nonnie always put in a lot of effort making Sunday dinner.
He also had numerous second and third cousins that played an active role throughout his life.
Blake had an enormous love of family, a heart to serve the Lord and others, an infectious laugh, a fondness for sports, animals, and for all food.
He enjoyed the process of planning a project more than actually finishing it.
